Summary of past Let's talk Hearts events 2010-2023

  • Wednesday 22 November 2023 - an exhibition stand on public engagement and Heart Health was held at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Industry Day. This exhibition stand was run with the help of NIHR Barts Biomedical Research Centre Public and Patient Advisory Group members and Queen Mary students learning about public engagement. 
  • Wednesday 1 February 2023 - two virtual talks were held. At 12-1pm there was a virtual talk by Community Smiles (dental student volunteers).  At 4-5pm there was a virtual talk by Doctor Hafiz Naderi (Queen Mary University of London). The title of Doctor Naderi's  talk was The Heart under pressure: How AI (Artificial Intelligence) can help. 
  • Wednesday 12 October 2022 3-5pm. Barts Pathology Museum, Barts Hospital. This was an in person event.
  • Wednesday 2 February 2022 2-4pm. This was the third Let's Talk Hearts virtual seminar. The first talk was an introduction to public and patient involvement and engagement. The second talk was a Let's Talk Hearts talk on heart disease.
  • Tuesday 26 October 2021 4-5pm.  This was the second virtual Let's Talk Hearts seminar. For the seminar a talk was given by Community Smiles (dental student volunteers) on smoking and the body.
  • Wednesday 20 January 2021 4-5pm.  This was the first ever virtual Let's Talk hearts seminar. For the seminar a talk was given by Community Smiles (dental student volunteers) on the relationship between heart health and dental health.

  • Saturday 2 July 2011,  4-6pm: Heart failure – keep your heart beating strongly, Charterhouse Square, near Barbican EC1M 6BQ. Information was presented on heart failure, a common heart condition that can cause debilitating symptoms and lead to death. The presentation discussed how to reduce the chance of getting heart failure or how to improve your outlook if you suffer from heart failure.

  • 1 October 2010 2pm-4.30pm Keeping fit keeps your heart fit (this was a launch seminar prior to March 2011 seminar), London Chest Hospital, Education Centre, main lecture theatre, Bonner Road, Bethnal Green, London E2 9JX.
